Robertson and Giuliani: A Not-So-Odd Couple
In a two-week span that saw several conservative Christian evangelical leaders finally climb down off the fence and begin spreading their endorsements across the field of Republican Party presidential candidates, it was the unexpected endorsement by one of Christian conservatism's longtime leaders that garnered the most media attention. When Pat Robertson, the founder and chairman of the Christian Broadcasting Network and the man who created and helped make the Christian Coalition a political powerhouse in the Republican Party of the 1990s, recently endorsed former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani, he accomplished at least two things: He enhanced Giuliani's standing amongst those evangelicals still paying attention to Robertson -- his CBN "700 Club" draws millions of nightly viewers -- and he injected himself back into the political spotlight.
Ankle - Questionable for Divisional Playoff game at Dallas
Giants WR Plaxico Burress practiced on a limited basis Thursday and again Friday after sitting out practice Wednesday because of an ankle injury that has bothered him for most of the season. The Giants are preparing to play the Cowboys in the Divisional Round of the playoffs. Burress, who hasn't missed a game this season and played in a Wild Card win at Tampa Bay, said earlier in the week that he has a torn ligament in his right ankle that will need to be surgically repaired in the offseason. It’s Lookin’ Good Dedicated to the Egyptian People
In the past two decades, the number of venues, events, funds and possibilities available to the arts community has grown in leaps and bounds. Egypt has undergone a major cultural revival in the visual arts, but beyond quantity, what is it that has made the art of this age different from that of the previous decades? With few exceptions, artists in the past had to resort to working within a structure wholly monopolized by the state. Art education, exhibition spaces as well as opportunities for international participation were more or less the domain of the government and thus predominantly reflected the values and concerns of those in power. .
Seinfeld’s Kramer Ruins Career With Racial Insults (UPDATED)
There's an old line: "When I told people I wanted to be a comedian, everyone laughed at me. Today, I'm a comedian, and no one's laughing at me now!" Was that written for Seinfeld's "Kramer," Michael Richards? Richards, a veteran comic actor, sketch comedian and longtime cutting-edge comedian unleashed racial-epithet crammed rant onstage at The Laugh Factory, sparking a firestorm that will most certain downsize — if not virtually destroy — his career. Yes, he'll still have his Seinfeld residuals. But so much for product endorsements, major Hollywood parts or a new TV show. He is now damaged goods. The story was broken via a video posted on Harvey Levin's great show biz news site TMZ.com: Michael Richards exploded in anger as he performed at a famous L.A.

The BIG Immigration Debate
I welcome immigration but believe that people who come here should attempt and be seen to be attempting to adhere to our codes and culture and not force over the top issues pushing our traditional tollerance and hospitality to the wire. I agree with a previous comment about Christmas and our traditions, Birmingham Bull Ring Centre did not have christmas because it was unacceptable to other cultures, totally ignoring that this is unacceptable to christian brits. Live and let live I love to celebrate other cultural traditions but expect other cultures to respect the host country traditions. .
